The public is invited to join the West Hartford Community of Concern as local parent and author Karin Stahl shares her book, “THE OPTION: a Memoir of Suicide, Mystery and Finding our Way.”

The book share and discussion will take place on Tuesday, May 9, at 7 p.m. at Hall High School, Room F 155.

On September 11, 2002, when many were remembering the senseless loss of life of the previous year, Kristina Stahl’s parents were plunged into a personal tragedy of suicide.

Their daughter – a former star student and athlete at West Hartford’s Kingswood Oxford School who went on to become an All-American lacrosse star at Colby College, and then returned to her alma mater as a teacher and coach – had taken her own life.

Stahl will share her story about her daughter in the hopes all will learn from this painful journey.
