‘Screenagers Next Chapter: Supporting Adolescent Mental Health in the Digital Age’ will be shown at Bristow Middle School in West Hartford on Nov. 21, followed by a Q&A.

West Hartford’s Community of Concern, Prevention Partnership, and West Hartford Public Schools are partnering to host an event that looks at the top issues for parents of adolescents we survey – helping their teens manage stress, anxiety, and depression in a screen-filled society.

The event will be a great program, starting with pizza and community resource tables, followed by a viewing of the second film of the “Screenagers” trilogy and a panel Q&A with a community clinician, school staff, and students.

Child care will be provided. The event will be held at Bristow Middle School, 34 Highland Street, West Hartford.

The screening and discussion of “Screenagers Next Chapter: Supporting Adolescent Mental Health in the Digital Age” will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, with pizza and resources available at tables. The film, followed by a panel Q&A, will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by

Film Synopsis

Filmmaker and physician Delaney Ruston uses a personal lens and professional eye to help us all flip the script on stress, anxiety, and depression. We follow Delaney as she finds herself at a loss on how to help her own teens as they struggle with their emotional wellbeing. She sets out to understand these challenges in our screen-filled society, and how we as parents and schools empower teens to overcome mental health challenges and build emotional agility, communication savvy, and stress resilience.
