West Hartford Exchange Club Awards Scholarships

The West Hartford Exchange Club recently awarded scholarships to three local high school seniors.

Three West Hartford high school students were awarded scholarships for academic and personal achievement by the West Hartford Exchange Club at a ceremony held May 3, 2017.  

Audrey Fromson who attends Hall High School and Lauren Kumpa who attends Conard High School each received the club’s 2017 high school scholarship. Michael Ennis from Hall High School received the distinguished Sullivan Award. 

Exchange member Jay Washburn who coordinates the scholarship program and was master of ceremonies, gave the audience a summary of each students academic and public service accomplishments and each recipient spoke to the audience offering gratitude and appreciation to the club as well as their families. 

The West Hartford Exchange Club’s mission is to make its community a better place to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities and its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse. The club sponsors the West Hartford Police & Firefighters Annual Service Awards and provides annual scholarships to Hall and Conard graduates. The club also donates to a variety of local charities including The Bridge Family Center.
