Sunday, July 19, 2026, is National Ice Cream Day, and the recently-opened Frisbie’s Dairy Barn West Hartford location will celebrate the day by scooping ice cream for 24 straight hours.
In fact, all six Frisbie’s locations will be open for 24 consecutive hours, beginning at midnight (12 a.m.) on Sunday, July 19, until 11:59 p.m. Sunday night, as the business holds its biggest celebration ever of the “sweetest holiday of the year.”

For the early morning visitors, there will be some breakfast-inspired ice cream flavors to enjoy, and throughout the day – from morning, to noon, to midnight – look for limited-edition flavors and other surprises along with Frisbie’s regular menu of small-batch, super-rich handcrafted ice cream.
“It’s a celebration of everything we love about ice cream throughout the year – you may also see some seasonal favorites reappear for one day only,” COO and co-owner Kendra Walker said. “You’ll have to stop by to check out exactly what we’ve got going on!”
This is the sixth annual 24-hour celebration for Frisbie’s Dairy Barn, which opened its first location in New Britain in 2021, but it’s the inaugural celebration for the location in West Hartford’s Blue Back Square (38 Isham Road) – as well as East Lyme, CT, and Sturbridge, MA, which also opened this year.
Guests tend to line up for the midnight opening, Walker said, urging people to expect a line.
“We’re attempting something that nobody has done before – operating all six of our locations for 24 straight hours,” said co-owner Paul Parks III, who was inspired to hold the major celebration six years ago. “It’s a huge undertaking, but it’s a celebration worthy of ice cream. National Ice Cream Day is our favorite holiday, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate with our communities.”
