West Hartford Man Killed In Hartford Motor Vehicle Crash

Hartford Police are investigating the fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred Thursday night.

Hartford Police said Friday that a West Hartford man is the victim of a car crash that occurred Thursday night on New Road.
According to a news release from the Hartford Police Department, officers responded to the area of 80 New Road, which is near the Meadows Music Theater, after receiving a report of a serious motor vehicle crash.
When officers and the Hartford Fire Department arrived at the scene, they found that a vehicle had struck concrete barriers at the end of the cul-de-sac.
Inside the vehicle they located the operator, identified as David Lemkey, 64, of West Hartford, suffering from serious and life-threatening injuries. Lemkey was transported to an area hospital, but had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Police said the cause and circumstances of the crash are actively being investigated by the Hartford Police Crime Scene Division.
