Spotted on Unity Green this week … a banner welcoming Travelers Championship players and fans. We understand that many of them are staying at the Delamar Hotel in West Hartford. Photos have been shared on social media of Tiger Woods in West Hartford earlier this week as well, following a meeting somewhere in town and dining at a Blue Back Square restaurant.

The Organization of Energy Service Professionals (OESP) announced the five winners of the 2026 Dave Nelsen Scholarship at the annual Eastern Energy Expo. The scholarship was established in 1999 to honor the commitment to education made by OESP member Dave Nelsen. It is awarded to students or technicians attending or planning to attend a technical college or trade school and pursuing a career in the oil heat and energy services industry. The winners include Jesse McDermott of West Hartford (pictured below, at left), who attends Entech. The scholarship was co-sponsored by the Bucks-Mont, Poconos, Lehigh Valley, Delaware Valley, Central Pa. and Southeast Pa. chapters of OESP. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional individuals selected to receive the 2026 Dave Nelsen Scholarship,” OESP President Bob O’Brien said. “Their dedication and potential reflect the bright future of our industry, and we are confident they will carry forward Dave Nelsen’s legacy of excellence.”
