An alert resident who witnesses suspects burglarizing vehicles in the Concord Street area early Friday morning led to quick action by West Hartford Police in locating and apprehending four juvenile suspects.
Police said they received a call from a resident at 1:56 a.m. Friday who had observed three suspects burglarizing vehicles.
Officers were able to quickly establish a perimeter and locate and arrest four juveniles who were charged with interfering with a police officer, third-degree criminal trespass, third-degree burglary, and conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary. None of the juveniles were from West Hartford, police said.
At least five vehicles have been reported burglarized overnight, police said, and the majority had been left unlocked.
“Another great example of citizens being vigilant, excellent work by our officers, and a reminder to lock car doors,” Capt. Mike Perruccio said in an email.
