Original Story

West Hartford Police have taken two men into custody after an officer on routine patrol in the area of Farmington Avenue at Trout Brook Drive heard a shot fired overnight.

Police said Friday morning that officers were on routine patrol at Los Imperios Restaurant at 12:50 a.m. Police have assigned regular patrols to the area based on past incidents.

“One of the officers heard a single gunshot,” according to police.

A vehicle was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed and after a short pursuit the vehicle was stopped at Farmington Avenue and Auburn Road.

Two men were taken into custody, police said.

According to police, one 9mm handgun and one facsimile handgun were recovered from the vehicle.

Both men had previously been inside Los Imperios, but there were no reports of any disturbances that occurred inside the restaurant.

Police said that there were no injuries and they do not believe that the public is in any danger.

The road will remain closed for several more hours as the investigation continues.

Further details will be provided as more information is received.

Los Imperios has been a constant problem for the town. Close it down. These issues are becoming more frequent and will eventually impact peoples desire to go into WH center.
