West Hartford Police responded to a report of shots fired Tuesday night, and located a vehicle that appeared to have been struck by gunfire but have not yet located any suspects or victims, Capt. Eric Rocheleau said in an email.

Police said they received a call just after 9 p.m. Tuesday reporting that shots had been fired in the area of New Britain Road and Hillcrest Avenue. A vehicle was located in that area that had “damage consistent with it being struck by gunfire,” police said.

Police did not provide details about the type of vehicle that was found, and said the scene is still being processed and the investigation remains active.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the West Hartford Police Department at the main number (860-523-5203), the anonymous tip line (860-570-8969), or at the confidential email tip line [email protected].
