West Hartford Police said a man who was struck by a vehicle while walking in the parking lot of the NBC Connecticut property at 1422 New Britain Ave. around noon Wednesday was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

According to an email from Sgt. Sara Nagle, when police and other emergency personnel responded to the scene, the male victim was “alert and conscious.” He had been walking across the parking lot toward the building, police said.

The man told emergency personnel that he had shoulder and neck pain.

Police said the driver of the vehicle that struck the man remained on the scene and was cooperative.
