West Hartford Police are searching for a stolen vehicle and two suspects involved in a carjacking late Saturday night in Bishops Corner. [Updated]

Update, Monday, June 14

West Hartford Police said in a news release Monday that the stolen vehicle has been recovered.

No further details are available at this time and the incident remains under investigation.

West Hartford Police are searching for a white Jeep Wrangler and the two suspects who reportedly stole the vehicle at gunpoint from the Shell gas station at 2512 Albany Ave. in Bishops Corner.

According to West Hartford Police spokesperson Lt. Aaron Vafiades, officers responded to a report of a carjacking at 10:58 p.m. Saturday.

Vafiades said that two victims were at the Shell gas station when they were approached by two armed suspects who displayed handguns and demanded the vehicle, a 2020 white Jeep Wrangler, Connecticut registration AY62708.

The victims turned over the vehicle, and the suspects fled the scene, police said. There were no reported injuries.

The investigation remains active and police are searching for both the suspects and the vehicle.

      When the police don’t release the description of the suspects it’s a deliberate decision, typically so the investigation is not compromised. I have requested that information, and other news media has as well.
