West Hartford Police are still seeking suspects in two unrelated muggings that took place late last week.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, police said a man was assaulted while walking from Proctor Drive to a gas station at Albany Avenue and North Main Street.

According to police, two black males driving a four-door sedan stopped and asked the victim for change. After the victim said he didn’t have any change, the suspects parked the car and followed the victim on foot, catching up to him at the intersection of North Main Street and Starkel Road and assaulting him, police said.

The only description of the suspects provided by police is that both were black males and one was 6 feet tall and the other was 5 foot 8.

Police said that the suspects stole two credit cards and $650 in cash from the victim.

The second incident took place early Friday morning.

In that incident, police said the victim, a visiting nurse, parked her car in the parking lot of the Santander Bank at 1010 Farmington Ave. at 5:58 a.m. and walked to a residence at 103 Brace Rd.

According to police, the victim reported seeing a maroon vehicle with blue and white license plates park in front of the residence. Two males exited the vehicle, police said, and approached the woman. One suspect pushed the woman to the ground and told her to hand over “all she’s got”  while also pulling on her purse and pointing a “silver object” at her.

Police said the suspects fled without taking anything.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was described as a white or Hispanic male of medium build, between the ages of 18-25. He was wearing “old, dark clothing,” police said. The vehicle’s passenger, who allegedly is the one who assaulted the woman, is described as a black male, 6 feet tall with short dark hair and a large build. He was wearing an old red shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information about either one of these incidents is asked to call West Hartford Police at 860-523-5203.
