West Hartford Police are requesting any information the public may have regarding a suspect who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint.

West Hartford Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a convenience store clerk at gunpoint in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to police, a male suspect entered the store at the Sunoco gas station at 669 Farmington Ave. just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

He demanded money from the clerk, police said, initially implying he had a gun and later brandishing the weapon which was in his pocket.

Police said that the clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the supect then fled on foot, heading eastbound on Farmington Avenue.

A K-9 search was conducted but the suspect was unable to be located.

The suspect, who is visible in security camera footage provided by police, is described as a light-skinned black male in his late 40s or early 50s, with a salt and pepper beard. He was dressed in a black hoodie and black pants.
