Watkinson students and West Hartford residents, Daniel Menatian and William Robinson earned recognition for their recent submissions to the 2015 Connecticut Annual Scholastic Art Awards program.

West Hartford’s William Robinson ’19  won a Gold Key for his design, “Led Zeppelin, Stairway To Heaven,” while Daniel Menatian ’16 received Honorable Mention for his sculpture entitled, “Anglerfish.”

The Connecticut Regional Scholastic Awards program is Arts Education based and as such, recognizes teachers as the central connection to the completion of successful student submissions. This program is a high quality level, professionally juried event which recognizes only the best Connecticut student art work. All Connecticut art students in public, parochial and private schools are encouraged to participate and submit high quality art work. Additionally, home schooled, private art schooled and independent entry students should work with their art teachers in order to gain the best advice in completing the required submissions process. In all cases, each Connecticut student entrant should seek the best advice and counsel of his/her art instructors when choosing to submit an art work. Connecticut teachers should submit up to 4 students’ works including portfolio submissions. Please refer to the Connecticut Guidelines provided by the Connecticut Art Education Association which can either be downloaded here or can be downloaded from the CÆA website.
