The West Hartford Rotary Jazz Brunch was originally planned for November 2020.

Coming off our wildly popular November 2019 Jazz brunch with Hall High alumnus and renowned jazz saxophonist Joel Frahm, we were excited to bring you another legendary performance by jazz clarinetist and saxophonist Ken Peplowski this November.

Sadly, the novel coronavirus has interrupted our plans – as it has for society as a whole.

Not knowing what this fall will bring, and in an abundance of caution, we are postponing this year’s Jazz Brunch to next year. The new date? Sunday Nov. 7, 2021.

The great news? Ken Peplowski and his talented accompanying artists have agreed to delight our senses and get our feet and fingers tapping during the 2021 Jazz Brunch – to again be held at Artisan at the Delamar in West Hartford’s Blue Back Square.

Save the Date for 2021!

The West Hartford community – and our music students – still need your help

While COVID-19 has upended our lives, needs in the West Hartford community continue.

For 68 years, the Rotary Club of West Hartford has helped address community and global social concerns. Events we host such as the Jazz Brunch and Vines of March raise thousands of dollars for local charities and international health initiatives, provide study-abroad grants, host exchange students, sponsor a middle school writing project, give dictionaries to the town’s third graders, support music students, and much more.

Half of our annual Jazz Brunch proceeds support Gifts of Music, which provides musical instruments and lessons for gifted and talented West Hartford public school students who cannot afford to pay for them. With the loss of income from this year’s postponed Jazz Brunch, Gifts of Music will rely on private donations to help these worthy music students in 2020 and 2021.

Want to help us continue supporting these important organizations and initiatives? Make a tax-deductible donation to Rotary Club of West Hartford Service Chest through your PayPal account (designate servicechest@westhartfordrotary.org). You may also mail a check to Rotary Club of West Hartford, PO Box 270252, West Hartford, CT 06127-0252.

Thank you, Jazz Brunch fans, for your support over the years of this important fundraising event. We look forward to seeing you at the Delamar on Sunday Nov. 7, 2021.
