The Rotary Club of West Hartford brings back “Vines of March,” its annual wine tasting and live auction, at West Hartford’s Mandell JCC (335 Bloomfield Ave.) from 7 – 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

WFSB 3 Television’s Kara Sundlun and Dennis House will return as the event’s honorary chairs and emcees.

Farmington’s Wine Cellars 4 will offer samplings from its wide selection; food will be provided by a number of area restaurants including Beachland Tavern, Black Bamboo, The Corner Pug, Crown Market, Fleming’s Steakhouse, Harry’s Bishops Corner Pizza, J. Restaurant/Bar, Pond House CaféShish Kebab House of Afghanistan, Treva, and Yosi Kosher Catering.

Tickets cost $50 per person and benefit the Rotary Club’s charitable projects.

“The benefits of Vines of March go beyond one evening, beyond the month of March, and well beyond West Hartford,” explained Event Chairperson John Smeallie of West Hartford. “Our Club is able to give to organizations like Johnny’s Jog for Charity, the Sixth Grade Writing Project, the Dictionary Project, and West Hartford’s Gifts of Music and Town that Cares programs. We also are helping to put webcams into NICUs throughout central Connecticut and building a video production studio at the American School for the Deaf. On a global level, we’re taking on clean water projects and joining the fight to end polio now.   This evening of food, wine and friendship celebrates and perpetuates initiatives like these,” Smeallie added.

Tickets are available online at www.westhartfordrotary.org.  For more information about The Vines of March, phone John Smeallie at 860.933.4680.
