The annual WHSO Holiday Concert features baritone-tenor Christopher Stone who will be performing Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” as well as Mel Torme’s “The Christmas Song” – also known as “Chestnuts.”
Audience members will remember Chris from his recent appearance as the Phantom of the Opera at our October Halloween Concert. Also on the program will be an unexpected piece that features the tuba. WHSO tubist Austin Lowery will be performing the lyrical 2nd movement of the tuba concerto by Ralph Vaughan Williams titled “Romanza.”
“Christmas Music for Orchestra,” “A Chanukah Overture,” Korsakov’s “Dance of the Tumblers,” Tchaikovsky’s “Dances from The Nutcracker,” and, of course, Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” will round out the program.
The concert takes place in the Reed Theater at Northwest Catholic High School on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at WHSO.org, or by phone at 860-521-4362, or in the lobby the day of the performance. General seating is $20, seniors and students are $15, children under 12 are free.
