September is National Preparedness Month, and the Town of West Hartford will hold a Community Preparedness Day on Saturday, Sept. 7, to encourage individuals and families to plan and prepare for any natural and manmade disaster.
Held in the Town Hall parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event features preparedness information, free giveaways, demonstrations, Touch a Truck, and a free raffle for a “Go Bag” full of emergency supplies.
Residents can also register for the Town’s emergency notifications and get a flu shot. Attendees can learn more about West Hartford’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and register for the free fall five-week basic training class, which begins Saturday, Oct. 12.
