West Hartford’s Social Services Department and the Connecticut Fair Housing Center will hold a conversation about fair housing on July 12 at the Elmwood Community Center.

Fair Housing is Your Right!

An informative conversation about fair housing practices will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Elmwood Community Center in Room 29.

You will learn about your rights as a tenant, and obtain the latest information that you need regarding fair housing practices in Connecticut. This conversation is in collaboration with the Town of West Hartford Social Services Department and Ms. Rashida Rattray, Community Education and Outreach Coordinator of the Connecticut Fair Housing Center.

About Rashida Rattray

Ms. Rattray joined the center in 2020 as the Education and Outreach Coordinator. Rashida’s professional experience is rooted in foreclosure prevention and mitigation counseling as well as legal administration. In her previous work as a housing counselor, Rashida assisted over 40 families in gaining positive outcomes while going through foreclosure. She also has a strong background in community engagement that was fostered by her work for the City of Waterbury. At the Center, Rashida facilitates outreach to a multitude of different stakeholders by planning and executing fair housing training, maintaining the Center’s social media channels, and brainstorming new ways to connect with the people we serve. She is actively pursuing her passion for advocating for people in all she does. She is currently enrolled at Trinity College as a Sociology major.
