Although Brooke Cunningham and Jake Bohn went through King Philip and Hall High together, it wasn’t until high school that they became friends, and they were dating by senior prom!

Their courtship endured nine years of long distance, including one year of living in separate countries, while Brooke studied abroad in Leon, Spain, during college.

The proposal came the day after Brooke took her USMLE Step 1 exam for medical school, when, while on a  beautiful hike together, suddenly Jake got down on one knee, and after convincing a shocked Brooke that it wasn’t a joke, she said yes!

The wedding ceremony took place at Brooke’s home church, St. Peter Claver.

A highlight of the ceremony was when their close friend, Joseph Fierberg, sang “The Prayer” by David Foster. There was not a dry eye in the entire church.

En route to the reception at The Riverview In Simsbury, the bridal party took a detour to take photographs at Elizabeth Park, and enjoy some ice cream as well!

Wedding Party: Maid of Honor: Brittany Cunningham (Bride’s sister).  Bridesmaids: Elizabeth Bohn (Groom’s sister), Lauren Kuehn, Michelle Driffill, Kaitlin Magsarili, Kristen Desrosiers, and Katelyn Desrosiers.  Best Man: Christian Bohn (Groom’s brother). Groomsmen: Connor Cunningham (Bride’s brother), Cam Green, Russell Gee, Tom Merullo, Anthony DeAngelis, and Ryan Rivard.

The couple combined their love of travel – and pasta and wine – to honeymoon in Italy. The bride’s parents, Kevin and Sharon Cunningham, and the groom’s folks, Mary and Bill Bohn are all West Hartford residents, and now the newlyweds are back in town also.
