Hamilton College’s Danielle Schuman ’19 of West Hartford (Conard High School ’15) was selected for the 2019 Division III Pocock All-America women’s team by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) on July 10.

Schuman, who was placed on the first team, is the Hamilton women’s rowing program’s fifth different all-American and eighth selection overall.

Sixteen rowers and two coxswain are on the Division III all-America team. Members of the team must have participated in 75 percent of their program’s races and rowed at least 75 percent of the season’s races in the varsity boat. Selection criteria includes strength of schedule, regular season record, end-of-season regatta results, nomination rank, coach’s comments and 2,000-meter erg score.

Schuman was part of a varsity 8 boat that finished sixth in the grand final at the 2019 NCAA Division III Women’s Rowing Championships and competed in the grand final at the National Invitational Rowing Championships. Hamilton was No. 6 in the final CRCA/USRowing Division III Top 15 regular season coaches poll and went on to finish sixth in the team standings at the NCAA championships. Schuman made the all-NESCAC first team in May and helped lead the Continentals to the second NCAA championships appearance in program history.
