The Bertucci’s at 330 North Main St. in West Hartford’s Bishops Corner will close following dinner service on Wednesday.
Manager Katie Dery confirmed the news on Monday afternoon. She said that the restaurant will be open for normal hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., but would not reopen on Thursday.
Dery did not have any details about the reason for the closing other than that there was an inability to come to an agreement on the terms of the lease.
Information about the number of employees at the West Hartford location and any plans to offer employment at other Bertucci’s locations was not available.
Neither the building’s property manager nor the Bertucci’s general manager could be reached for comment late Monday afternoon.
According to the company website, Bertucci’s has been in business since 1981, and there are approximately 85 locations on the east coast. Other nearby locations include Avon and Newington.

I’m sad to hear about the closing….and it’s too bad the leasing company couldn’t come to an agreement….I guess it’s better to have an empty space than guaranteed income.
First Pier One and Sears near the Mall, now this. When is W. Hartford going to wake up to the crazy unrealistic rents? We don’t need any more reasonably priced businesses closing, especially restaurants.
Just heard about this. Really stinks that it’s closing, however, with the terrible service there, maybe it’s not the worst thing. Maybe something better will go in like a Chili’s, Applebee’s or 99.
To be honest, I went once back in 2010 and didn’t like the food at all.
Take-out service has always been sloppy/slow at this Bertucci’s, and the last time we ate in the restaurant the food and the service were both terrible. This was a few years ago and we haven’t been back since, so not really sorry to see it go. We’ve eaten at the Avon location a few times and never had a problem.
Bertucci’s has always been good to us. Glad there are others within reach. As a Bishop’s resident, it’s never helpful to see vacant spaces. If the plaza management has plans it would be helpful if they would share with the neighborhood.
Don’t all hold your breath for any replacement chain restaurant opening there. The rents are too high otherwise one would have taken over the spot where Koma is now when Macaroni Grill left. Speaking of Koma, the only restaurants we see opening anywhere anymore are Asian or very upscale. 99 closed in Avon, no chance it will come to W. Hartford, unfortunately. I could pray for an Outback but seriously doubt it would ever come here.
