The last Tuesday of the month is almost here, so that means it’s time for some laughs!

On September 25, 2018 the line up for WeHaHA! Comedy Night has been announced. Audiences at the intimate World of Beer setting have seen comedians from far and wide who have been internet hits, appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien or The Late Show with Steven Colbert and others.  This is a laughing matter. These are professional comedians, and for some local flavor, you will often see an opening act from right around the corner.

Tickets are available on EventBrite or via the Facebook event page for a suggested donation of just $20 ($22.85 with EventBrite fees). Tickets are usually available at the door, but seating is limited, so advance registration is encouraged.

This series of last-Tuesday-of-the-month comedy nights are made possible in part by Dr. Steven A. Fischman Orthodontics (an amateur stand-up comic himself, so he knows what it takes to put this show together each month.) Comedian Paul Gregory has announced the acts for the September show:

This month’s headliner: Doug Key is a New York City based comedian and performs at comedy clubs and popular bar shows all over the country. He’s been seen on Mark Normand’s Comedy Central digital series “What They Really Mean.” Doug was featured in the 2013 Boston Comedy Festival, 2014 and 2017 New York Comedy Festival, and the 2017 Cape Fear Comedy Festival. He’s had the privilege to open for some big names including Dave Attell, Nick Dipaolo, Dom Irrera, Kyle Kinane, T.J. Miller, Michael Che and many others. Doug has made TV appearances on MTV’s Broke A$$ Game Show, and ABC’s The Chew. He is the founder of Rhode Island’s first and only comedy festival, The Rogue Island Comedy Festival which takes place in Newport, RI Oct 4-8 2018!

In keeping with the “doctor” theme, the featured act Jay Sutay is dubbed “The Hardest Working Pediatrician in Comedy.” Dr. Jay Sutay, is a frustrated pediatrician from South Windsor, CT, who brings his tales from the exam rooms, his experience working with kids and their parents, as well as his own tribulations as the father of two daughters to his stand up comedy. His cutting and sometimes incisive commentary about society, parenting and raising kids, has left audiences laughing.

Dr. Jay Sutay began doing stand up comedy in 1983 while attending Fairfield University.

Also featured is Josh Levinson, an up-and-coming stand up comic who has performed in clubs and bars all over New England. Software engineer by day and and comedian by night, audiences enjoy Josh’s unassuming demeanor as he turns his insecurities into punchlines. Whether he’s lending his sense of humor to the popular blog Between Two Rocks or performing on stage, he gives you more than the typical IT guy next door. Josh is able to laugh at himself in a way that is infectious and gets you to laugh along with him.

  1. […] We-HaHA Comedy Night returns to World of Beer this Tuesday night, and Matt Sousa, newly-appointed district manager for World of Beer’s Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York locations said that there are now set prices for food and drink for each Comedy Night, ranging in price from $3-$6. Also every month a free appetizer will be featured and served to each table. Comedian Paul Gregory, who lines up the talent for each show, will introduce a new format this Tuesday with the comedians much more up close and personal – an exciting change for the venue, he said. Host sponsor Dr. Steve Fischman is thrilled with all the changes and feels that mixing things up will only make the evening more enjoyable. The hours are now 6:30-8 p.m., with the comedians performing from 7-8 p.m. Click here for more information about this week’s show. […]
