The third annual blood drive in honor of Seamus Turco, a 19-year-old West Hartford resident, will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at West Hartford Town Hall auditorium, 50 South Main St., West Hartford.

Seamus recently completed a lengthy treatment for lymphoblastic lymphoma, a blood cancer. From December 2014 to April 2017, he received multiple blood transfusions as part of his treatment.

Seamus and his twin brother, Gabriel, and their twin friends Abby and Kate Gosselin, all graduated from Conard High School together last year. They are hosting this blood drive to help ensure that blood is available for patients in need, particularly after a long holiday weekend. As twins, the foursome encourage donors to bring a “twin” with them to give blood.

The blood drive runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments may be made directly through the American Red Cross (www.redcrossblood.org, enter sponsor code TURCO) or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Parking at Town Hall will be validated.
