The Connecticut Education Association released its annual Legislator Report Card, including a list of “educational champions” the teacher’s union says have a “proven track record” of supporting public education.

CEA’s Legislator Report Card is transparent and holds legislators accountable for their actions, focusing on what they have or have not done and how they voted on issues of importance to teachers and the education community,” said CEA President Kate Dias in a statement. “It serves as a guide for educators, parents, and community members to know which legislators have proven themselves as advocates for our students and our schools.”

All of the legislators representing West Hartford in the General Assembly were named to CEA’s Honor Roll. State Rep. Kate Farrar (D-20th) had the highest score among those representing West Hartford, with a 94.5%, followed by state Sen. Derek Slap (D-5th) at 93.5%, state Rep. Jillian Gilchrest (D-18th) at 93%, state Rep. James Sanchez (D-6th) at 92.5%, state Rep. Bobby Gibson (D-15th) at 88.5%, and state Rep. Tammy Exum (D-19th) at 88.2%.
