Postponed Until April! ‘A Chance to Dance’ Fundraiser in West Hartford Will Support ARC

Thomas and Madelyn Filomeno, committee chairs, are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual “A Chance to Dance” fundraiser will take place on Saturday, April 25, at West Hartford Town Hall beginning at 7 p.m.
“A Chance to Dance” is part of our annual campaign “A Chance to See,” supporting Tri- County ARCs efforts in making a difference in the lives of adults with special needs.
Tri-County ARC is a non-profit organization that owns and operates several community homes serving residents in the Hartford, Windham, and Tolland counties. They provide Advocacy, Resources and Community experiences for adults with special needs. All profits raised go directly to supporting the operating costs of the day programs and group homes of Tri-County ARC. It is one of the 700 chapters of the ARC, the largest national community based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
“Having an adult niece Tricia living in one of the properties of ARC, is why we have spearheaded this fundraiser, we recognize how important living with dignity and respect is for all us, and believe it is our duty to help those who are voiceless in our community making a difference any way we can” explained Madelyn Filomeno.
Last year’s event raised over $20,000, which directly contributed to updating flooring, emergency repairs for heating in two homes, new lights, emergency cash flow needs, vehicle repairs and a new dishwasher. As we have only scratched the surface of what we need to accomplish our goal this year is to raise $40,000, which will go a long way towards necessary repairs and upgrades needed at ARC’s community homes.
