American Family Care is offering free flu shots to veterans at locations in West Hartford as well as New Britain, Danbury, Torrington, and Vernon.

November is the ideal month to receive a flu shot for optimum protection from the flu virus. The flu can lead to life-threatening complications, especially for those with medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease, During recent flu seasons, between 80% and 90% of flu related deaths have occurred in people 65 years and older.
Dr. Iftikhar Ali, Medical Director of American Family Care (AFC) has announced that all clinics are offering free flu shots to active and retired members of the military on Veterans Day in appreciation for their service. Participants must bring their military ID at the time of their visit.
Shots will be available on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the following locations:
- 1030 Boulevard in West Hartford
- 135 East Main Street in New Britain
- 2 Main Street in Danbury
- 100 Mill Plain Road in Danbury
- 76C Newtown Road in Danbury
- 179 Talcottville Road in Vernon
- 1171 East Main Street in Torrington
