State Rep. Jillian Gilchrest (D-19th) will host a forum at the Mandell JCC in West Hartford for the community to discuss ‘modernizing’ holiday policies for the state’s diverse population.

People of all faiths deserve equitable time off to observe their religious holidays.

State Rep. Jillian Gilchrest was approached by a constituent of Jewish faith who is frustrated that over the course of her career she has had to use more than 60 personal or vacation days to observe religious holidays. With more workplaces offering telecommuting and remote access, the state is well positioned to offer their employees floating holidays.

Please join Gilchrest for a community forum on Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Mandell JCC, 335 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, to discuss this issue and possible policy solutions. All are welcome to come to share their experiences, listen, and  learn.
