Conard Drama has been selected to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland, the largest performing arts festival in the world that spans over 25 days and features more than 59,000 performances.

Twenty students, along with Conard Theatre teacher and director Hunter Parker, will have four performances of a new play called Murder at Camp Harmony. They are excited to premiere an original comedy written by senior Joshua Peak, who is among the students traveling this summer.

The students will have four performances in Nicolson Square (right in the heart of everything). Conard students will be joining students from 30 other U.S. high schools in Edinburgh who are also performing with The American High School Theater Festival at the Festival Fringe.

In addition to rehearsing and performing in Edinburgh, students will also promote Conard’s show at the Festival Fringe, and have opportunities to watch many other Fringe performances. The two-week trip will include cultural tours at several sites in London and Scotland.

Conard previously sent students to the fringe in 2017 and past participants and teachers continue to rave about the awesome opportunity. This educational experience offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience for these talented and dedicated students.

For the past year and half, students and families have been fundraising to help offset costs for travel and program expenses. Participants have held bake sales, raffles, trivia nights, drama workshops, and more.

As summer approaches, students will be gearing up to perform with excellence on an international stage. The students representing Conard’s theatre program are looking forward to sharing their passion for theater with audiences from around the globe.
