Connecticut Schools Hit by Widespread PowerSchool Cybersecurity Breach

West Hartford Public Schools Superintendent Paul Vicinus released a statement to parents saying the incident was not exclusive to West Hartford and noted that districts across the nation were targeted and PowerSchool has engaged law enforcement in the investigation.

Several Connecticut school districts are dealing with the aftermath of a cybersecurity breach involving PowerSchool, the widely-used, cloud-based software that manages student records, report cards, payment accounts, and other critical information for schools across the US and Canada.
Officials from PowerSchool, which is standard in most Connecticut schools, raised concerns about data security and privacy following the breach.
