Gov. Ned Lamont was Thursday’s special guest on the We-Ha.com Roundtable, and major topics included COVID-19 as well as the state’s economy, the possibility of legalizing marijuana and sports betting in the upcoming session, and even a brief discussion of whether or not the governor will consider running for a second term.
West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor also joined the conversation, with updates focused more specifically on the West Hartford community.
Both Lamont and Cantor responded to a slew of questions from viewers.
Co-host John Lyons, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week after being exposed to an infected family member and is currently isolating at home, shared a bit of a firsthand account of his own experience the disease, which he said he “wouldn’t wish on his worst enemy.”
The evening following the forum, the governor found himself personally impacted by the coronavirus, beginning a 14-day self-quarantine after his chief spokesperson, Max Reiss, tested positive. Reiss, as well as the governor and other top aides who are also quarantining, reportedly remain asymptomatic.
The roundtable was held as a virtual event streamed on Facebook Live, West Hartford Community Interactive, and YouTube.
The roundtable can be viewed in its entirety below.
