CT Transit Bus and Tractor Trailer Involved in Early Morning Crash in West Hartford

West Hartford Police are investigating a crash at the intersection of Albany Avenue and Trout Brook Drive between a bus and a tractor trailer.

The busy intersection of Albany Avenue (Route 44) and Trout Brook Drive in Bishops Corner was impacted through rush hour Wednesday morning as West Hartford Police conducted an investigation of a collision between a CT Transit bus and a tractor trailer.
Police said the incident occurred approximately 5:06 a.m.
The driver of the bus, who was the only occupant, was entrapped due to the crash and required extrication by the West Hartford Fire Department. The driver was transported to a local hospital with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the operator/passenger of the tractor trailer did not report any injuries.
As of 8:45 a.m. the intersection, which had been completely closed at one point, had been reopened to traffic, with the exception of northbound King Philip Drive at Albany Avenue, police said in a tweet.
