Drag is officially taking center stage in West Hartford. Local performer and resident Auntie Lu has recently found a new home with The Elbow Room and her drag family, The Haus of Pro, to bring dynamic, high-energy drag entertainment to the heart of West Hartford Center.
The residency kicked off on March 8 with the debut of “GOOD JUDY,” a New York City-style, two-woman drag show hosted by Auntie Lu and Lexxi Pro of The Haus of Pro. The premiere performance drew a sold-out crowd, signaling strong community interest and excitement for drag in the Center. The show will continue on a bi-monthly basis, with the next performance scheduled for May 31.

Building on that momentum, Auntie Lu has since launched a second recurring show, “Ladies Who Lunch,” a vibrant, feel-good drag experience featuring rotating themes and cast members, also hosted at The Elbow Room.
The next installment, “Ladies Who Lunch: Spring Breakers!” promises an afternoon filled with comedy, drag lip-sync performances, interactive audience games, and more, bringing an uplifting and inclusive energy to one of West Hartford’s most beloved gathering spots.

Auntie Lu shared that bringing drag to West Hartford has been a long-time goal. “Since moving here, I’ve wanted to see more drag and queer art in the area,” they said. “I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer and perform at West Hartford Pride over the years, and it’s been amazing to see how vibrant and supportive this community truly is.”
In addition to the shows at The Elbow Room, the local drag scene continues to grow. Natalia Fierce, a fellow Connecticut queen and West Hartford resident, recently introduced a monthly Tea Dance at El Santo, held every third Sunday. Together, these events are helping shape a more visible and celebratory LGBTQ+ presence throughout the town.
Looking ahead, West Hartford Pride’s festival will take place this year on June 27, hosted by Natalia Fierce, with a surprise headliner to be announced. Festivities will kick off with a Pride Happy Hour on Friday, June 26 from 4-7 p.m. at El Santo, setting the tone for a weekend of celebration.
“West Hartford is such a vibrant and welcoming community, and I’ve always wanted to create a space where people can come together, laugh, and celebrate drag right here in the Center,” said Auntie Lu. “The response has been incredible, and we’re just getting started.”
Auntie’s next show “Ladies Who Lunch,” on April 25, invites guests into a playful, escapist experience – where martinis flow at noon, laughter fills the room, and the everyday is left at the door.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m., with the show beginning at 12:30 p.m., giving guests time to settle in, grab a drink, and prepare for an unforgettable afternoon of entertainment.
