Driver Who Collided with Motorcycle Operator in West Hartford Faces Multiple Charges

The driver of a vehicle that collided with a motorcycle in West Hartford on Aug. 12, 2024 was arrested Tuesday.

West Hartford Police said a 19-year-old South Windsor man was arrested Tuesday by warrant and faces multiple charges in connection with a collision with a motorcycle on Aug. 12, 2024, that sent the operator to the hospital with serious injuries.

Capt. Peter Juda said Tuesday that following their investigation, Abdul Saeed, 19, of South Windsor, was identified as driver of the vehicle that collided with a motorcycle on Aug. 12 at approximately 6:15 p.m., at the intersection of Fern Street and Mountain Road. Fern Street was closed for several hours due to the incident.

Saeed has been charged with first-degree assault, speeding, reckless driving, first-degree reckless endangerment, failure to drive right, operation of a cellphone (first offense), seatbelt violation, and illegal tints.

He was released after posting $15,000 court set bond and due back in Hartford Superior Court on Oct. 24, police said.
