Hall used a balanced offensive attack and dominant pitching to earn a 7-1 victory over Simsbury on May 11.
After a quiet first inning, Hall’s offense came alive in the second, pushing across two runs to set the tone early. From there, the team settled into a patient, disciplined approach at the plate, working counts and waiting for opportunities rather than forcing action. That approach paid off again in the fifth inning, when Hall added three more runs to widen the gap, before tacking on two additional insurance runs in the sixth to put the game out of reach.

Simsbury managed its only run in the fourth inning, briefly cutting into the deficit, but Hall’s pitching staff quickly stabilized the momentum and never allowed the visitors to mount a sustained rally.
On the mound, Grant Davidson delivered a commanding start for the Titans. He worked four innings, striking out nine batters while allowing just one hit and one run. Davidson consistently kept Simsbury hitters off balance, mixing pitches effectively and controlling the pace of the game from the outset. His performance set a strong foundation for the bullpen to build upon.

Alex Rebours followed with three scoreless innings of relief to close out the game. He allowed just two hits while striking out three, effectively shutting the door on any hopes of a Simsbury comeback. The combination of Davidson and Rebours gave Hall a steady, dominant presence on the mound throughout all seven innings.
Offensively, Hall finished with seven runs on seven hits, making the most of its opportunities while also applying pressure on the basepaths. Matt Panarella played a key role in the lineup, finishing with two singles and two RBIs, coming through in crucial spots to drive in runs and extend innings. Max Hanawalt also contributed with a single and two RBIs, helping Hall build and maintain separation as the game progressed.

Even as the offense delivered timely production, Hall’s defense ensured the lead remained secure. The team played error-free baseball, supporting its pitchers with clean, routine execution and several sharp defensive plays. One of the game’s standout moments came in the fifth inning, when Louis Sauer delivered a strong, accurate throw following a pop-up play, cutting down a Simsbury runner and halting any potential momentum shift.

Simsbury finished with just three hits on the day and struggled to generate consistent offense against Hall’s pitching combination. Outside of its fourth-inning run, the lineup was largely contained and unable to string together meaningful pressure against either Davidson or Rebours.
In all phases, Hall controlled the game. The combination of timely hitting, aggressive base-running, steady pitching, and clean defense allowed the team to dictate the pace from the second inning onward and secure a decisive 7-1 victory.
Hall, 12-4, has two more away games this week – both against West Hartford teams. They face Northwest Catholic (8-7) on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., and Thursday at 3:45 p.m. the annual Mayor’s Cup game vs. Conard (5-11) will be played at the University of Hartford’s Fiondella Field.
