On Monday night Hall girls basketball hosted crosstown rival Conard for their final home game of the season.
Prior to the game, Hall honored their two senior players, McKenzie Mandyck and Genevieve Nelson. Conard has three seniors – Sophia Lynch, Emilia Santiago, and Morgan Dorsey – and all five seniors started playing on the same team in elementary school on West Hartford’s Magic Travel Basketball team.
Monday’s match-up was an even game with the exception of the second quarter. Hall and Conard matched up very well in the first quarter (Conard leading 8-7), and then in the second Conard hit a streak and outscored Hall 15-2. Hall was able to keep it even in the third and slightly outscore Conard in the fourth, but the second-quarter deficit was too much to overcome.
Hall was lead by McKenzie Mandyck with 10 points and Abby Magendantz and Maddie Maxwell with 6 apiece. Conard saw great performance by two freshmen, Callie Cosgrove and Emily Knowles, who combined for 35 points.
Conard (12-8) won 46-34.
Hall (5-15), ended the season with a 32-28 win at South Windsor on Tuesday.
