To the Editor:

I enthusiastically endorse Tiffani McGinnis for state representative in the 18th district because I know that her priorities are mine – and West Hartford’s.

First, Tiffani understands that we face an affordability crisis. She’s determined to help make life more affordable by advocating for increased state support for our local schools – which will help offset property tax burdens.

As a current town councilor, Tiffani has experience balancing our town budget while making important investments in public safety and town services. She sees how these decisions impact our quality of life and will help partner with state government to ensure West Hartford gets the support it deserves.

Finally, Tiffani knows that the chaos in Washington can impact our town and state. Whether it’s standing up when ICE violates people’s civil rights or pushing back against federal cuts to UConn, I know that Tiffani will always do her best to protect Connecticut from the Trump administration.

Simply put, Tiffani is ready to bring her public service to the General Assembly. As West Hartford’s state senator, I need partners in the House who understand the issues and are capable of being effective from day one. Tiffani McGinnis is that person.

Sincerely,
State Senator Derek Slap
West Hartford
