On a busy spring afternoon, with the sun shining down, the Hall girls lacrosse team began their game with intense rivalry. With both teams determined to leave with a win, family and friends filled the stands with supportive commotion, even some wandering off from other games to join in on the fun.

The ball was instantly tossed around, swinging from stick to stick, team to team. In the first few minutes, Hall scored a short-distance goal and the score was now 1-0. As the field reset, with each player in place, their stances remained determined and focused.

From high up on the bleachers, the ant-like players raced across the field with an agile speed, chasing after the ball. With a short-handed throw, Hall was able to score a second goal, now 2-0 against Farmington.

After a game of cat-and-mouse, each player chasing after the ball, Farmington was able to score and it was 2-1. Soon after, they followed up with another goal, 2-2. With the game tied and only four minutes on the clock, the bleachers creaked as everyone sat on the edge of their seats.

The second quarter started off with a Hall goal, breaking the tie to 3-2, after minutes of running up and down the field. With swinging sticks and wide steps, Farmington sprinted to catch up with Hall’s lead.

Unfortunately for Farmington, at minute seven, the Hall Titans scored with another shot on goal, and the score was 4-2. Both cheers and deep sighs filled the stadiums as each family reacted to the long-shot goal. With hoards swarming the net, it was a shock that the ball slipped between the posts.

A sudden wave of cheers sparked within the crowd as Farmington scored, and it was 4-3, with the River Hawks slowly eating into Hall’s advantage. With the score beginning to even out, Hall ran faster, determined to keep in the lead.

Barely two minutes later, Farmington scored another goal, evening out the score 4-4. The Hall fans remained anxious as they watched their lead slip from their grasp. Could they reclaim a win on their turf?

That lead was soon taken back as they scored two additional points, 6-4, with only 25 seconds in the half.

After a somewhat uneventful third quarter, full of skillful plays and chants, Farmington scored a goal and pulled within one, 6-5.

With Hall holding onto the lead, the fourth quarter started off with each player sprinting for the ball, gathering around the opposing goalie net like bees, determined to score the winning point.

With loud cheers and rallies of support, Hall scored a goal and it was 7-5. With only 10 minutes left in the match, it was still a close game and each team’s fate remained in the air.

Adding even more pressure to Farmington, the Titans struck gold again, pushing the score to 8-5 with a goal from #11 Lucy Gwiazdoski as the intensity began to heighten. This was Gwiazdoski’s 200th goal of her high school career, an honorable and inspiring feat that earned her a roar of applause from the crowd.

With minutes to spare, Farmington scored a goal, 8-6, filling the stands with cheers. Just then, Hall scored yet another point, 9-6, putting them further ahead with a minute left.

As the buzzer rang, signaling the end of an intense match, Hall cheered with victory as they once again conquered their home turf.
