To the Editor,
Early voting in the Democratic primary begins August 3rd, and I’ll be casting my ballot for Luke Bronin. I encourage you to vote for Luke as well.
Luke has spent the past year getting to know the 27 towns of the 1st Congressional District, meeting voters where they live and work. Important to me – and hopefully to you – he has spent lots of time in West Hartford: talking with people at Celebrate!, mural unveilings, Pride events, and in people’s homes, learning what matters to us here in West Hartford and seeking solutions.
His background as a dad, veteran, mayor, and state and federal policy advisor make him the best choice to represent us now in Congress. He understands the urgency – and he brings a fresh approach to problem solving that’s needed at this moment.
Luke is running a positive, forward-looking campaign that’s focused on the change our district and our country need, not on tearing down other Democrats.
We need Luke to help get our country back on track and build a stronger future for us – and for the generations to come.

I will be supporting Luke with my early vote. Since the United States Congress refuses to vote for term limits we must do so with our vote. John Larson is a good man, we just need a change of energy for the First District. I 100% believe that Luke Bronin is the best choice for the 1st.
Luke Bronin could be a good candidate. Sadly, however, he has demonstrated that he is not a person of his word. Before Governor Lamont announced his reelection campaign, Bronin was actively pursuing the gubernatorial nomination. He promised Congressman Larson his support. Then, when one avenue for his political ambition closed, he broke his word. This seems pretty fundamental to me. Besides, there are no substantive issues where Larson and Bronin disagree, but Congressman Larson actually has a real record of advocacy and strong opposition to Trump.
Also a reminder to commentator Jackie Jamsheed: Congressman Larson has supported term limits but it never got the votes to pass.

Question- what is preventing Congressman Larson from putting his personal actions where his vote is and term limit himself? Don’t you think 27 years in this job is long enough for a man who “has supported term limits”?
