Dear Editor,

In this election we need renewal and a brave look forward in state politics. The old steady habits no longer serve. Therefore, I support Jillian Gilchrest, a candidate for state representative in the 18th district, in the Aug. 14 primary.

I have known Jillian since I served with her on a board a few years ago. She was well informed and energetic, and had an uncanny knack for grasping an issue and reaching a fair resolution. I am thrilled that she is now devoting her time and energy to running for public office.

Jillian is a young proven advocate for social justice with a keen interest in improving Connecticut’s economy. She has the courage to speak the truth even if it is uncomfortable. She will challenge the status quo at the Capitol and disrupt unproductive and entrenched practices. She will speak clearly and directly to constituents, and engage residents in the political process.

Please give Jillian Gilchrest the opportunity to serve the residents of the 18th district and the state in the Connecticut House of Representatives. Remember to VOTE in the primary on Aug. 14. VOTE!
