To the Editor:

I’m writing a letter in strong support of State Representative Kate Farrar.

I have met with her through informal conversations and formal gatherings, and she has shared her philosophies about state government. She also spends a lot of time meeting with people and hearing their concerns, and she listens to what they say.

Kate is working for an inclusive positive vision of the future for all, including reducing taxes, expanding access to education, and affordable healthcare. Her opponent has taken a negative position by pushing for punitive punishment with unrealistic financial penalties that criminals will not be able to pay.

While it is important to include the skills of an education that teaches math, science, and other core subjects, it is equally pressing for students to develop skills that will enable them to think critically and make sound judgments. Kate is someone who will fight for these values.

I ask for your strong consideration to vote to allow Kate Farrar to continue her work for West Hartford, and now Newington, as our state representative.
