Dear Editor,

As a former law enforcement officer in West Hartford and a state lawmaker, our town needs leaders who understand the value of public safety. West Hartford Town Councilor Liam Sweeney is precisely that person.

In his four years on the Town Council, Liam Sweeney has made it a priority to understand the needs of our police officers and our entire public safety community.

Liam has supported investments in public safety and has worked directly with businesses and community organizations impacted by crime to create solutions.

Liam is a strong advocate for the people he serves, ensuring that questions or concerns do not fall upon deaf ears.

Liam has been an outstanding Town Councilor and has earned another term through his hard work and dedication. That’s why I am voting for Liam Sweeney on November 2nd and hope you do as well.

Joe Verrengia
West Hartford

(The writer is a retired West Hartford Police Officer and a former State Representative)
