Letter to the Editor: Additional Crosswalk and Signage Needed on North Main Street

To the Editor:

Unbelievable that North Main Street between Fern Street and Asylum Avenue doesn’t have the signs of children (yellow) warning. Also no crosswalk between the bus stop by Linnard Road.

Many people thought the building is an office. Entrance [at] the driveway is for three schools.

  • In regards to the dangers of North Main St., when will Town officials give a green light to considering the merits of a trial “road diet” — reducing the number of lanes from four to three — on the 1.7-mile stretch of North Main Street between Farmington and Albany avenues? This plan is certainly worth the effort to implement for the safety of pedestrians at cross walks and bicyclists who share the road.
