To the Editor:

I first met Janée Woods Weber in 2015 through our involvement in West Hartford Public Schools.

I’ve since gotten to know her as a colleague and now a friend. She’s exemplary in both categories and I strongly believe she will be equally good as a town councilor for West Hartford, where I have made my home for 24 years.

I’m very excited that she is the first ever Working Families Party candidate for Town Council. She will be a principled and compassionate voice for all West Hartford residents and make sure they are represented.

When she talks about everyone deserving a seat at the table, she truly means it and you can see that commitment in her decade long career advocating for social justice, her activism work on behalf of poor communities and communities of color, and her work on various nonprofit boards.

West Hartford needs the leadership of a woman like Janée who puts kindness, community and justice before all else. I’m glad I live in West Hartford so I can vote for her on Row C next Tuesday.

Sincerely,

Roxanna Booth Miller
West Hartford
