Dear Editor,

Jonathan (left) with Liam Sweeney at graduation. Submitted photo

When it comes time to vote, I have to support the candidate who has a vision for the future and who I believe will do the best job.

I have known Liam for the past few years and have the utmost respect for him both as a family man and as a public servant. I came to know Liam through his involvement with the West Hartford Public Schools, where he was assigned to be my son Jonathan’s mentor. Liam has been a true advocate and role model for not only my son, but for every child that has had the opportunity to work with him.

As a founding member of  Active City, a non-profit that provides underprivileged youth access to quality sports programs, Liam invited Jonathan to help him manage one of the basketball teams. I was able to see first hand his dedication and hard work. Liam has given Jonathan the skills and tools needed to maximize his potential. He is a true leader. Liam was there when Jonathan graduated 8th grade and he was also there to provide Jonathan support during his time playing basketball in the town league, talk about commitment!

Liam is a man of his word and respected by many. He is committed to his community and is willing to go above and beyond for what he believes in, especially for a town he loves.

Liam Sweeney, you once again have our vote.
