To the Editor:

The Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) is proud to strongly support Sherry Haller for State Representative in West Hartford’s 20th District.

With Sherry’s assistance, the Laborers Union Pre-Apprenticeship Program has introduced hundreds of youth to the building trades. Her passion and commitment to provide hands-on learning opportunities for our youth has changed the lives of many students, giving them direct career pathways opportunities after high school.

With the onset of COVID, Sherry’s efforts in partnership with LiUNA has created virtual learning opportunities for summer school students by providing them with an adapted curriculum and hands-on “Tool Kit” at their homes. This effort is paving the way for our youth to continue their training and acquisition of credentials as well as high school credits both during the pandemic and potentially once the new school year begins.

Sherry has dedicated her professional life to improving the lives of our young people and working families. We believe she will bring that same creativity, passion and skill to representing the voters in the 20th district and working on the critical issues facing our state at the General Assembly.
