The Greater Hartford Host Lions Club is proud to announce that West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor issued a proclamation that Tuesday June 4, 2019, is “Andrew Stern Day.”

Earlier this year, he was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, which was given to him on Jan. 26. This Fellowship is the highest honor presented by Lions International to individuals demonstrating a commitment to volunteerism and service in their community.

Stern has been a member of the Lions Club since 1976, and was instrumental in merging the Hartford Host Lions Club with the West Hartford Lions Club to form the Greater Hartford Host Lions Club. In addition to his work with the Lions Club, Stern does a great deal of networking at various West Hartford Chamber of Commerce events, and is an ambassador to new chamber members, making them feel welcome to the chamber and helping them grow their businesses.

Stern is also a volunteer at Foodshare in Bloomfield, CT. Foodshare serves food to needy residents of Hartford and Tolland Counties, and Stern has volunteered over 1,100 hours of his time to this organization. He continues to be an inspiration to the Greater Hartford Host Lions Club.
