The Mandell JCC invites families to a special Purim Party on Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, CT.

Parents and children are encouraged to dress up as a favorite storybook or Purim Character and take part in Purim merrymaking. Celebration-goers will enjoy a Hamantashen (Purim cookie and treat) factory, photo booth, face painting and various games and crafts.

Purim is known as the Feast of Esther, Jewish day of merrymaking marking the defeat of Persian tyrant Haman. It is customary to wear costume and hold carnival-like celebrations to commemorate the occasion.

The Purim Party is free and open to the community. For more information visit www.mandelljcc.org or contact Karen Wyckoff, 860-231-6317, [email protected] or Jane Pasternak, 860-231-6342, [email protected].

The Mandell Jewish Community Center is open to everyone and supported by funds raised by the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, a recipient of funding from the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford, and a member of the JCC Association of North America.
