MLK Celebration 2018: January 22 at University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford

The life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be celebrated at ‘Dare to Dream,’ a free event at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018.

The Autorino Center for the Arts and the University of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) Diversity Committee welcome all to celebrate and remember the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Through music, movement, and spoken word performances by members of the USJ and local communities, we celebrate and give thanks for Dr. King’s work to advance justice and peace in our world.

Abdul-Rahmaan I. Muhammad of My People Clinical Services and the Dream Support Network will be the featured speaker, Abu Carter Sr. and Blue Jays in Spirit will provide musical entertainment, the USJ Dance Ensemble will perform, and Jodi Ann Bryan and USJ Dream Catcher contest winner will also speak.

A post-performance ice cream reception and open mic will be hosted by MIRA and Mind Evolution.

MLK Celebration 2018 will be held on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, from 7-9 p.m. at the Hoffman Auditorium, Bruyette Athenaeum, University of Saint Joseph, 1678 Asylum Ave., West Hartford, CT 06117.
