This annual event is part of the Hall High School and Conard High School PTO’s plan to present joint programming throughout the year to assist students and their families with current events and community needs. The event is open to all students from middle school through high school in the area, and is not just for Hall and Conard students.
Jason Siegal, West Hartford athletic director for both Conard and Hall, said, “The goal of the event is to help students learn more about the NCAA process from area college representatives and alumni who participate in college athletics.” Siegal also mentioned that he is pleased to share this event with other schools in the area.
Hall PTO Co-President Annie Keith mentioned that last year’s event helped students and their families learn about what college coaches are looking for including a diversified sports portfolio, responsible social media practices. and a “student first” mentality.
Besides learning about NCAA compliance, students and their families will learn how they can benefit from academic support and teamwork as they progress in their college career.
Panelists for the event include:
- Molly McCarthy, CCSU assistant athletic director for Compliance & Student Services
- Tom Picince, CCSU assistant athletic director for Communication and Media Services
- Morgan Valley, UConn Women’s Basketball alumna and current University of Hartford Women’s Basketball coach
